Meet the Staff


  • Brad Speirs, Senior Minister

    Brad grew up at Novesta. In 1999, while a sophomore in college, he was hired as the youth minister. Thru 2009, his role at the church was primarily with the youth. Since 2011 he has served as the Senior Minister at Novesta. Brad is passionate about Jesus and the church. He strives to build relationships with others that will open doors for the gospel to change their hearts and lives. Brad married his high school sweetheart Kristy in 2001, and they have 2 kids, Emily 19, & Ethan 17. Emily is a sophomore at Huntington University in Indiana and Ethan is a senior at Cass City High School. Brad loves all things sports and bleeds Green (Michigan State).

  • Garrett Roberts, Connections Minister

    Garrett began attending Novesta in the fall of 2009. From that point on he knew Novesta was his home and began getting involved fairly quickly. First, was a deacon, then Elder and recently the Connections Minister in 2026. He has been married to Heather for 20 years. He has 3 children Devon, Trenton, Lilyon. Devon is 24 and has a baby girl, which makes us grandparents. So exciting to now play that role. Trenton is 18 and a senior at Cass City High School. Lilyon is 14 and is his favorite daughter lol. She is in 8th grade at Cass City High School. Garrett enjoys golfing, hanging out with people in general. God has put encouragement on his heart and building real, honest relationships with Jesus in the center. Life's about relationships. God is good.

  • Tyler Brandel, Student Minister

    Tyler began attending Novesta as a jr. high student with his family. He participated in youth group as a teen and has played a key role as a volunteer since his graduation from Ubly High School. After graduating from Northwood University, Tyler worked for a few years in the financial industry. We were blessed that Tyler decided to pursue full time ministry starting in October 2023. Tyler married his wonderful wife Alyssa in September of 2023. Tyler and Alyssa have a beautiful daughter Selah who was born in January 2025. Tyler loves Jesus and people and he's a huge fan of disc golf, the Detroit Lions, and playing basketball!

  • Heather Roberts, Children's Ministry Director

    Heather has served at Novesta Church of Christ as the Children’s Ministry Director since 2018. She is deeply passionate about Jesus, and the children of the church.  
    She loves teaching God’s Word, watching kids shine for Jesus and building meaningful relationships with them along the way.
    Heather is happily married to Garrett Roberts, our Connections Minister, together they have 3 children: Devon 24, Trenton 18, and Lilyon 14. They are also proud grandparents to their sweet granddaughter, Blayre. Heather loves spending time with family, sipping coffee, soaking up sunshine, and walking alongside others in faith.
